Mohini POV
I hear footsteps so I turn towards the door and see Ekansh and Viraj entering the room.
I lean away from Yuvraj letting go of his hand. I stand up and smooth my dress then move toward them.
I look around them for Swati but she hasn't arrived.
Ekansh frowns at me and asks me,
'What are you trying to find Bhabhisaa?'
Swati takes that time to enter the room. She looks up to see me urging her towards me.
She nods her head and comes up to me quickly. Hesitatingly I sign which Swati translates,
'Do you know where Yuvraj's ring has gone?'
They look confusingly at each other then Viraj asks,
'Bhabhisaa, vaidya ji ne Agam ke saare abhushan aur kapde nikalwa diye.'
'Bhabhisa, doctor got all the jewelery and clothes of Agam removed.'
I sign as Swati translates,
'But he is still wearing rings in his hand?'
They confusingly nod their head and say,
'Maybe doctors are in the middle of removing when we interrupted them.'
I nod my head thinking thats right but doubt still niggles my head so I ask Swati by sign,
'Where are the ornaments kept?'
She takes me to the side cabinet where all his jewelleries are kept.
I take out all the bundles on the floor and sit on the floor then thoroughly searching the ring between them.
A hand comes on my hand, I look up to see worried faces of Ekansh, Viraj and Swati.
Viraj's hand is on mine and he asks me,
'What are you finding? Maybe we can help you.'
Yes, they can tell me. So I sign which Swati translates,
'In these ornaments neither in his hand, I can't find the ring gifted to him by Bapusaa.'
He looks perplexed and asks me,
'You are trying to find Agam's ring gifted to him by Raja-sa?'
I nod my head. I see both of them looking at each other smilingly. I don't understand what is there to smile in this serious situation.
Ekansh looks at me and asks,
'Aapko pata hai ki wo anguthi kaisi dikhti hai? Shayad hum aapki madad karde, humne kahin dekhi ho? Kya wo anguthi abhi haal mein usse Raja-sa ne di thi?'
'Do you know what that ring looks like? Maybe we can help you, have we seen somewhere? Was that ring given to him recently by the king?'
I nod my head and then answer in signs and Swati translating,
'Ring was given to him 2-3 days before coronation. It was a deep blue ring with gold lines and freckles on it.'
They frown while trying to remember it.
Viraj helps me to stand and answers,
'I don't remember him wearing that type of ring given to him by Raja-sa.'
The panic rises in me at the thought that I imagined the ring.
Then I remember that he kept the extra ring given to him by Bua-sa in the small box in his office.
Maybe he kept that ring also in that box.
I move away from them when Ekansh suddenly says which stops me in my tracks,
'I remember a ring on his finger that you described but it wasn't given to him by Raja-sa.'
Who gave him that ring?
Swati asks them,
'Can you remember who gave him that ring and where did he kept that?'
She voices my question. Ekansh looks at her intently so she lowers her eyes and move to other side with dupatta hiding her face.
Ekansh answers still pondering,
'No...No, I-I don't remember.'
I just nod my head and move towards his office with Swati on my heels.
I direct Swati to find a small box of red colour. We get on our search.
If Bapusaa didn't give him the ring then who? And how did that person has the same ring like Bapusaa?
And why Yuvraj removed it? And if there is more than one ring like that then am I wrong for blaming Bapusaa for Aai's murder on that ring?
These will be answered but first I have to find the ring because even though there are ring like this, they are still connected with Aai's murder.
I just have to find how they are related with stable evidence.
I couldn't find the ring neither that box which is increasing my panic and the hold on reality.
In my hurry I collide with his desk which makes the blue box to fall and I drop down collecting all scrolls dropped.
I put all scrolls in the blue box then stand up with box.
Something niggles my mind so I keep the open box on the table and crouch down to look under it.
I find the red box lying there.
Why would he keep the box there?
Someone knocks on the door and I look up to see an attendee standing.
She says,
'Rajkumar Viraj is trying to find you, Bai-sa for Yuvraj's report. Everyone is there.'
I nod absentmindedly. I look up to see her still standing there.
I motion to Swati to tell her to go.
She nods and says,
'We will come, you can go now.'
She says,
'I have instructions from Raja-sa to not leave her alone with Yuvraj's important things.'
I glare at her. Before I can say anything Swati steps forward and says,
'You can go now and its Bai-sa's order. Don't force me to bring Rajkumar Viraj here.'
She nods her head and runs off from there.
I bend down and take out the red box from under the table.
I sit down on the nearby couch and open it with Swati standing behind me. I rummage theough it but I don't find the ring there.
Where did that ring go?
Frustratedly I go through the box on the table.
There are many questions as it is and it is all connected to that ring.
I pick up the box and keep it on the table with blue one which is open.
As I go to close that one, but the word 'Malwa' catches my eye.
I take out the scroll and read it carefully.
This is the grant letter which has stopped the trade of Malwa in Suryagarh and alliance kingdoms of Suryagarh till a decision is made after coronation of Yuvraj.
The doubt starts niggling me and absurd thoughts arises like that maybe he deserves this.
Why would he even do this?
Then doubt leaves me at the thought that maybe they didn't want him to be coronated and wait for his decision.
Maybe my father is behind this.
And maybe Yuvraj was permanently going to stop the trade.
I turn to Swati and sign,
'I am going to freshen up and you go find out the type of poison used in the arrow with which Yuvraj has been injured right now and come to my room then.'
I then sign again after thinking,
'Send Rajkumar Viraj and Ekansh to meet me in the sitting area outside of my room.'
She nods and we both move to our destination.
I pace in the sitting area when they entered the area.
Ekansh says,
'What happened, Bhabhisaa? Why did you call for us in so urgency?'
I just hand him the grant which I found, as my answer and question both to them.
They look perplexed but Viraj take the scroll then read it which makes his eyes widen.
Ekansh also reads it and clears her throat again then asks,
'Where did you find it, Bhabhisaa?'
I just arch my eyebrow, sit down and keep impassive face which shows that it doesn't matter where did I find the grant.
Viraj sits down with a sigh and says,
'I know this looks bad but believe me this was not Agam's move on your father to take revenge by sabotaging your people's livelihood.'
Ekansh says slowly,
'Because we know he doesn't care that much about his people. But he does care about what he is trading.'
I questioningly look at him but Viraj answers,
'Bhabhisaa these talks are between us and Agam, we can't betray his trust so don't ask us, please. Just know this that this decision wasn't made with ill intentions.'
I believe him because something tells me he isn't lying so I just nod.
They both stand up and Ekansh says,
'Everyone is in his room so when there is any update I will tell you.'
I just nod and they both leave just as Swati comes in my room.
I enter my room to find her holding the arrow by clothes.
I examine its tail and find four fletching(wings) instead of two and slightly long which makes it more stable to fly over large region.
It can fly up to more distance than normal arrow. These types of arrow is made in my home state.
These arrows are good to aim at enemy from a large distance.
Whoever used this wanted to injure Yuvraj and then vanish away before anyone can caught up to them.
Which sets my theory wrong that Jayant Bhau hurt him because I saw him there shocked standing while we were being escorted back to palace.
But I have to check my facts thoroughly.
I look at Swati and sign,
'Take a 10-12 soldiers with you to the address where I sent you with letter earlier. Search for this flower smell there, jarul. It is used to cover the smell of the poison.'
I bring 'Jarul' flower from the garden and she smells it.
She nods her head and I sign further,
'But don't let the soldiers know immediately. When you find something then only alert them.'
She nods and leaves from there.
I pace and ponder the grant and the meaning behind Ekansh's words.
Somehow I am understanding the partial reason why my father married me off here trying every evil trick in his book.
First gain is change of currency in more states with less taxes and more open trading routes.
Malwa will be open to trade not only in Suryagarh but also in the kingdoms which are in the alliance with Suryagarh.
Its not like they can't trade without this marriage but it makes his trade duty free and taxes 5% of trade.
This makes it cheaper for Malwa to trade in Suryagarh and other states.
Export tax for states who are not in alliance is high so this way he lowers his export taxes to 10%.
But that doesn't mean Malwa is in the alliance treaty of Suryagarh, he has only signed the peace treaty and nothing else.
This marriage gives my father cheaper, more open trade routes, security to his state from any other states' threat, and not to enter the alliance.
He doesn't want to accept Suryagarh's lordship through alliance.
I sit down because suddenly I feel weak after this realization.
My father wants to have ladoo in both his hands without comprimising anything.
I know for certain that there is another reason why he doesn't want to come in alliance and I will find soon enough.
This whole thing Yuvraj had already figured out so that's why he temporarily stopped the trade until his coronation.
My baba also figured out the delay behind this so that's why he attacked Yuvraj delaying his coronation.
Anger churns in my gut at slow realization of this.
Because in the grant the decision date is of today not of undefinite day after coronation.
So no decision means, by default release of trade hold.
I won't let my father succeed in his evil plan this time. I couldn't do anything when I was under him but this time I have the power to stop him.
I just have to confirm whether Jayant Bhau is in this plan or not.
Baba will pay for what he did soon enough.
I remember one para of legislation of Suryagarh which is going to be very beneficial for me.
I go write on a paper.
As soon as Swati comes, bring her to my chamber without any delay.
I walk out of my room to hand the paper to the attendee standing outside my room.
Without acknowledging me she takes the paper and leaves the area.
I frown at her balatant disrespect for me.
I ignore it and move back to my room, waiting for Swati.
It was almost afternoon when Swati rushes in my room panting heavily while I drove myself crazy waiting for her.
I look at her for answers. She takes several deep breaths then answer me,
'As you told me I had gone there with soldiers, I checked out the place while I engaged that man with people outside.
I didn't find any flower smell there or bow arrow gear but before going he gave me this letter to give it to you. My search completed fast.'
I take it then open and read it,
Humara vishwas kariye Mohini, ye humane nahi kiya. Par humane un nakabposh ko dekha jisne ye sab kiya.
Humne usse pakdne ki bhi koshish ki aapke jaane ke baad par wo humari pakad se bohot dur chala gaya.
Hum sirf Yuvraj ka apharan karna chahte the aur kuch nahi, unhe marne ka koi udeshya nahi tha humara.
Aur phir bhi yakeen na ho toh hum yahi rahenge wo bhi sabke saamne apni pehchan chupaye bina jab tak aap hume pakad nahi leti ya phir jaane ko na keh deti.
Aapke Bhau,
Jayant Kamble.
Trust me Mohini, I did not do this. But I saw the masked person who did all this.
I even tried to catch him after you left, but he went far away from my grip.
I only wanted to kidnap Yuvraj and nothing else, I had no intention of killing him.
And even if you don't believe me, then I will remain here without hiding my identity in front of everyone until you catch me or ask me to leave.
Your brother,
Jayant Kamble.
This letter clears one thing that Bhau didn't do those things because then staying here so openly will be a great risk to him.
I knew from my gut he didn't do it. But I have to clear him.
I have to tell some spies to keep an eye on him.
I convey my thought to Swati to which she reply hesitatingly,
'I don't think its a good idea, plus... they won't.......... listen to you.'
I frown at that then I remember what she said so I ask her in sign,
'If your search completed so fast then why did you arrive palace so late?'
She answers,
'I didn't arrive now----'
She stops abruptly.
I sign,
'Where were you?'
She hides her eyes from me but I tilt her face to me so she can carefully see what I am asking her,
'Where were you?'
I sign slowly for her to understand that I only want the truth.
I ask her,
'Did you not get my order from an attendee?'
She sighs and replies,
'I didn't get any order and Naina Bai-sa engaged me in the work of preparing note to every state that no coronation will be held today.'
Anger churns at so transparent disrespect.
After the whole palace learnt about my disability and deceit they wouldn't take me seriously.
In my own husband's empire, my own empire, if I have to make somebody work I have to use Yuvraj's name or Naina's.
They didn't respect me before for my muteness and deceit and the knowledge that I can't do anything to them because who will listen if I can't speak.
But they didn't disrespected me this much because of Naina, Yuvraj and Bapusaa.
They are showing full disrespect because right now Yuvraj is injured and Bapusaa, Naina are angry with me.
I get it, that it is my fault for what happened to Yuvraj.
But it doesn't concern them. They are not the judge and jury of this situation.
They have to give me the respect not on their name but because of the fact that I am their future queen.
I can't speak that doesn't mean I am weak and incapable to lead.
And its time to show them that, I have enough of their disrespect and enough of my sympathetic side which sympathised their situation.
Deceit or not, I am Mohini Kaashvi Agam Surya Chauhan, the future queen of Suryagarh and I demand respect from everyone in this palace.
I ask Swati in signs,
'Where is Bapusaa?'
She frowns but answers,
'He is in the room stamping the letter sent to each state present there during evening with royal priest.'
I sign,
'Take me to him.'
She takes me to his chamber where I hear voices,
'The date of next coronation will be decided if Yuvraj wakes up, Raja-sa.'
Another unknown voice says,
'He is right Raja-sa, there is no use of deciding the next date of coronation before Yuvraj is treated fully.'
Bapusaa's voice booms,
'There is no if. I know my son will wake up, so accordingly come up with 2-3 dates, Purohitji.'
The pain in his voice weakens me but I strengthen myself because what I am going to do will make him hate me surely right now.
But when he will calm down then only he will understand my reasoning.
I pull the veil upto my nose and enter his chamber after announcement.
Everyone looks up as I enter. I see Naina standing there with a frown.
Great, I have to face her too.
I make myself hard and stone hearted.
I join my hands and bow in front of them they return the greeting.
Then I touch Royal Priest's and Bapusaa's feet.
Royal priest blesses me but Bapusaa doesn't.
It looks like there will be no easiness for me.
I sign after pulling up my veil to forehead,
'There is no need to send these letters to those kingdoms, Bapusaa.'
Swati translates it. Everyone frowns at it. Royal Priest asks me kindly,
'What do you mean by that, Bai-sa?'
I take a deep breath and sign,
'Because coronation will happen this evening. My coronation will happen this evening.'
