25. Agam Shows Mistress Her Place

Agam POV

She is looking down at our hands with wide eyes. I also look at it but I don't find anything to warrant that reaction.

I gently remove my hands from her hands then tilt her face towards me which is looking scared and I softly ask her,

'Do I have to kill her? What did she said that have you so scared?'

My tone is ironic to the storm brewing inside me.

If Chandani has done something which has her so scared I will throw her out of this kingdom or kill her.

She seems to snap out of the reverie in which she was at my question. She abruptly pulls away from me and stands up.

I frown at her weird behaviour and go to move to her but she steps back shaking her head.

Her this reaction is gutting me. What has happened, that has warrant that type of reaction from her?

Then she runs out of the room with Swati following her.

I rake my fingers through my hair feeling anger pulsing inside me.

I call an attendee to tell Chandani to wait for me in her room. Then I take the scroll for which I came for and move to my office.

We go through our plans for one more time then I end the meeting.

I roll my shoulder to calm my anger and move towards Harem.

I wanted to talk with Mohini first so I called Swati but she informed me that Mohini is not feeling well and wants to rest.

It is evening now. I enter her room to find her only lighting the outer part of room not deeper part making the atmosphere erotic.

My anger rose seeing this because she thinks I am here to spend my time here.

She turns to me when she sees me entering the room and smiles seductively. She comes up to me and puts her hand on me.

She says while acting all shy,

'Hume pata tha ki uss samay aap sirf unka mann rakh rahe the, parantu hume bilkul accha nahi laga jis tarah se unhone humse baat ki.'

'I knew it, at that time you were just paying attention to her, but I did not like the way she talked to me.'

She leans closer to me and says,

'Ek baar aap Raja ban jaaye tab hum unhe bataenge. Bada aayi aap par apna adhikar jatane wali.'

'I will tell her once you become king. She is asserting her authority over you when she has none.'

The way she is talking about Mohini is making my blood boil, with gritted teeth I ask her,

'Accha, kya bataengi?'

'Oh, what will you tell?'

She looks at me with evil glint in her eyes and say,

'That even though she is Queen, I will be the one who you will crave, always.'

Red clouds my vision in anger and I put my hands on her throat slamming her against the bed.

I bring my face closer to hers and speak,

'Aapko mana kiya tha ki, ab na aap humse milengi, na aap humare kamare mein aaengi aur na hi Mohini se milengi. Par aapne humare aadesh ki avahelna ki.'

'You were forbidden that now neither will you meet me, nor will you come to my room nor will you meet Mohini. But you disobeyed our orders.'

I squeeze her throat tightly and she claws at my hand. I say,

'Biwi hai humari Mohini, adhikar hai unka humpe, aapse kai adhik. Agar wo chahe toh abhi ke abhi aapko Suryagarh ke bahar nikal fek sakti hai.'

'Mohini is my wife; she has rights over me, many more than you. If she wants, I can throw you out of Suryagarh right now.'

Her eyes bulge and her face turns red. I make sure that she meets my eyes when I speak,

'She is your Queen and start giving her the respect she deserves or you will be out of Suryagarh if you are responsible for even one of her tears.'

I release her with a jerk and she sits up coughing, sputtering.

I straighten myself and say,

'This is your last warning, if you try to cross me again, I won't be easy on you.'

She looks at me with wide, fearful eyes. I enter my room when Swati also enters handing me a letter.

I look at it frowning and ask her,

'What is this?'

She replies,

'Bai-sa has written it for you.'

Before I can ask any other question she leaves me with the letter and confusion.

I open the letter, sit down and start to read it,

Hume kshama kar dijiyega par humare paas himmat nahi thi ki hum aapke samne aake apni galti apnaye aur isse pehle ki aap gussa ho hum pehle hi bata dete hai ki ye sirf galti thi aur kuch nahi.

Aaj hum Bapusaa se unka haal puchne gaye the, kayi dino baad, jab hum baat kar rahe the tab Bapusaa ne apni dawaayi humse maangi.

Humne jaldi jaldi mein dawaayi wala sandook utha te samay dusra sandook gira diya jisme Bapusaa ne apni yaadon se jude kuch samaan rakhe the.

Hum Dada ki kasam kha rahe hai Yuvraj ki humne jaan bujh ke nahi giraya tha sandook.

Ho sake toh gussa mat hoyiga kyunki yeh ek shadyantra nahi tha humari or se, Bapusaa ya aapko chot pahuchane ka.

Aapki Patni,

Mohini.

Please forgive me but I did not have the courage to admit my mistake in front of you and before you get angry let me tell you in advance that it was just a mistake and nothing else.

Today I went to ask Bapusa about his condition, after several days, when I was talking, Bapusa asked me for his medicine.

While I hurriedly picked up the box containing medicines, I dropped another box in which Bapusa had kept some things related to his fond memories.

I swear on Dada Yuvraj that I did not drop the box intentionally.

If possible, don't be angry because this was not a conspiracy on my part to hurt Bapusa or you.

Your Wife,

Mohini.

After I read the letter, I am suddenly hit with a ton loads of guilt.

Thats why she moved back from me, not because of Chandani but she deserved the lesson and warning from me.

I wouldn't put it past her to do something really evil against Mohini.

I don't know what I ever saw in her, or why I ever let her touch me.

It looks like I am a bastard in every situation.

I have scared her so much that she fears me for even a small mistake. God, I am such an evil bastard for making her fear me.

Her sweet, innocent face has looked at me with so much fear and disgust, thinking that if I knew about this, I would hurt her again.

When she started to act with me somewhat normally that I forgot that I didn't grovel to her properly.

She deserves a proper grovel, and I will make her realize that I have changed and won't punish her for small mistakes without hearing her side first.

The coronation preparations have been so hectic that I haven't got the time to apologize and grovel to her properly.

I haven't even have time to properly sit down after the letter incident, then the next day also.

And I don't think I will get the time today as well.

Somewhere, I know she is also busying herself with the preparations so she is not left alone with me.

I can't call out to her as I am also busy all the time.

I make a promise to myself that after coronation, I will make time and grovel to her properly.

Well, I am working on one plan for apologizing after the sweet dish incident, but I haven't had much time to work on that.

And it will take time to come to success.

So I will have to think of another plan as well.

I am going over the budgets of each region when Ekansh and Viraj enter my office.

Ekansh, as usual, spews something nonsense,

'What has you pouting?'

He comes and take my chin in his hand like I am a toddler and says in placating manner used for kids,

'Kisne mere bacche ka khilona chhin liya, ya phir Mohini Maa ne aapke piti piti kar di?'

'Who snatched away my child's toy, or did Mohini Maa beated you?'

When I give him a deathly glare the bastard just smiles and sits down comfortably.

Viraj doesn't blink an eye at that. Sadly we are used to this behaviour of his.

When I look at door I find Swati looking down with her body shaking with laughter.

My cheeks heat up at that. I clear my throat at which Viraj frowns and follows my sight to Swati standing there hiding her laugh.

At that his lips twitch, he is enjoying my situation. Bastard

Ekansh looks at both of us, pouts and say,

'When did you both started to talk each other in code language? Why I am the only one left out in both of your plan?'

When I indicate towards Swati he just looks at her then shrugs, not the least bit bothered by it.

He says mischieviously,

'Ye toh kuch bhi nahi, Bhabhisaa ki dost ko toh pata hi nahi ki hum dono akele kamre mein kya kya karte hain?'

'It's nothing, Bhabhisa's friend doesn't even know what we both do in the room alone?'

Viraj spews the water he was drinking, the ink falls from my hand and Swati stumbles with her wide eyes.

But my eyes widen even more and cheeks heat up when I see Mohini standing on the door with huge, shocked eyes and mouth open.

She regains control on herself and looks at both of us repeatedly.

I stand up to explain it when she flees from here like she is on fire.

Ekansh sits like he is not at all bothered by what he said and what he implied.

Viraj shifts his chair away from his chair and my desk, and when I frown at him. He shrugs and answers,

'After this I can say I don't know my friends and the way he is saying I can't imagine what you two have done when you were meeting without me. It looks like that I don't know my own friends.'

Swati also flees at this. I glare at them as I sit down.

'Can you both ever will be serious? Do you know how your talks affect the impressions of mine in my ministers mind?'

Viraj gets comfortable and say,

'I thought that you are not bothered by the opinions of others about yourself?'

I take a deep breath before I lost it and say,

'But still, they are my ministers and soon enough I will be their king.'

He waves it away like my talk about this is unnecessary. He leans forward with seriousness in his eyes and ask,

'Humne suna ki harem ki Chandani ki aaj behas hoyi Mohini se.'

'I heard that Harem's Chandni had an argument with Mohini today.'

I frown at him then mimic his pose and ask him,

'Aur hume ye janna hai ki aapko ye sab kaise pata?'

'And I want to know how you know all this?'

He grits his teeth and says,

'Just answer the damn question.'

The way he is reacting tells me that he is embarrased to admit his source of information. Now this is intriguing me more so I push him,

'Now I seriously want to know who told you abuout this.'

Ekansh also mimics our pose then pouts and asks,

'I also want to know your source of information who is giving you so juicy information other than me. Who is become more important for you than me?'

I am still angry at his earlier display and say,

'For God's sake, not everything is about you.'

He shoots me a nasty glare, grumble and sulk in his seat pelutantly.

Viraj takes a breath and say slowly,

'Naina'

I snort at that and say,

'I thought you only bickered with her when did you both started to talk and got civilised.'

If looks could kill I would be already dead, the way he is glaring at me.

But Ekansh outrights laugh loudly. To calm himself down he pours a glass of water and sips, laughing in between.

Viraj looks at him surely planning to murder him and asks me,

'Remind me again why did we save him from that well.'

I nonchantly say,

'He said you will never find such a unique brain, looks and enjoyable life in your own life.'

He still glares at him when he replies,

'We both have enough brain, looks and enjoyable life equals to miserable life.'

I reply just like Ekansh without thinking once how my words will imply,

'And he also said that he gives a good head.'

Ekansh sprays the water on my face and I roar,

'What the fuck?'

Viraj is looking at me with wide eyes and indicating at the door where I see Mohini again with wide eyes and her feet in air to enter.

She flees again then I realize the mistake with my sentence.

I sit down and rake my hand through my hair in frustration and I say,

'I mean in planning strategies and making easy alliances.'

Ekansh snorts while Viraj's lip twitch.

I have to grovel and explain to Mohini in length that it is not what she heard and what she understood.

Great, Just great. I groan.

Viraj decides to put me out of my misery and ask,

'So did you do something about your mistress?'

I snap my head at that with all seriousness and snap at him,

'She is not mistress of mine, she is a mistake of my past who tried to mess with my present and very important future.'

I then proceed to tell them everything that happened which sobers both of them with seriousness.

Ekansh nods his head and says,

'Its good that you made her understand that she is replaceable and disposable but Mohini isn't.'

Viraj looks at me and says,

'Humne socha hai ki jab tak Raaj Tilak na ho jaaye tab tak aapki suraksha badha de.'

'I have decided to increase your security until the coronation takes place.'

I frown at that, bringing my dagger and playing with it and say,

'I don't think that it will be necessary as it is only tomorrow.'

He leans foward and say,

'Aapne Malwa aur kai rajyon ka vyapar rok ke rakha hua hai, aur hum sabhi jaante hai kyun rakha hua hai.'

'You have stopped the trade of Malwa and many states, and we all know why.'

I nod my head understanding it and indicating for him to continue,

'Agar Raj Tilak mein koi bhi deri huyi, toh hum vyapar ko rok nahi paenge, kyunki iske nirnaye ki tarikh kal ki hai na ki aapke Raj tilak ke baad ki.'

'If there is any delay in coronation, we won't be able to hold up the trade because the decision of trade is to be made tomorrow not after your coronation.'

Ekansh snaps his finger and say,

'So by default we have to release the trades because we had stopped it when the traders were in the middle of stting up the trade,'

I complete his sentence, now realising it,

'And delaying the decision will means upholding their means of livelihood and exploiting the mental state of the traders.'

Viraj nods and says,

'Aise kai Rajya hai jo humse satyata se jude huye hai par isme deri huyi toh unka samarthan humse chala jaega.'

'There are many states which are sincerely associated with us but if there is a delay in this then their support will go away from us.'

He leans forward and looks me in the eye when he says,

'Aur aap bhi jaante hai ki kitne log yahi chahte hai.'

'And you also know how many people want this.'

I nod my head and ask him,

'Toh aapne kaisi humari suraksha badhane ka socha hai?'

'So how have you thought about increasing our security?'

He nods his head and say,

'Yaha ke sainik toh yaha rahenge hi parantu jo bhi jaal aapke liye bichaya gaya hai usse bhapne ke liye hum apne guptchar bhi tainaat karenge.'

'The soldiers here will definitely stay here, but we will also deploy our spies to get an idea of whatever trap has been laid for you.'

Then he goes to explain the security detail of mine till the coronation the another day with Ekansh interjecting in between where he needs to.

We finish it and ask them,

'So we are all set for tomorrow?'

They both nod but I know they will not relax until my coronation just like me. Many things hinges on my coronation tomorrow.

Ekansh asks,

'About the list of minister--'

He is interrupted by the knock on my door.

I look up to see Swati there with Mohini. I put away the dagger then stand up and say,

'Come inside.'

Mohini warily comes inside and I blurt out,

'What you heard was not the way I exactly meant it and we don't do that too when we are in the bedroom.'

Viraj amused voice asks me,

'Then what you both do in the bedroom when you both are alone?'

When I see Ekansh openinig his mouth, I glare at him which shuts him up.

I look to Mohini with indecision on her face to whether enter deeper or not.

I sigh and say,

'Just tell me why you came here.'

She takes a breath and come stand beside my table while Swati stands behind Ekansh and Viraj at a distance.

Mohini signs which Swati translates,

'Bai-sa thinks it will be good idea to go between your people before coronation so today we should enter the lives of common people of Suryagarh.'

She hasn't been talking to me properly and she is now here to suggest this.

But I can't give the permission because it is risky for me as well as for her.
