Agam POV
'Yuvraj, appko Maharaj yaad kar rahe hai.'
'Yuvraaj, King is calling you.'
I looked towards the attendee standing few feet away from me with lowered head.
I have been practicing in training area since morning and it is afternoon now when he arrived.
'Unse keh dijiye hum apna vayayam pura karke milne aate hai.'
'Tell him I will come once I have completed my workout', I told him while continuing my workout.
He bowed his hand and walked out from the area.
I know what my father wanted to talk to me.
He wanted me to make time for myself and "enjoy my victory rather than wallowing in self grief" his words not mine.
I just think I want to be prepared every time so my enemy never perceive me weak and I don't want to be surprised by any attacks.
Been there, done that. I thought to myself.
I entered in my vast bathroom. I had already informed the attendees to prepare for my bath.
I took the small stairs and entered in the huge pool keeping my dagger within my hands reach.
The attendes started to put herbal paste and sandalwood paste and rubbed it on me.
After washing myself off, I ordered the attendees to leave me and through the side door entered my changing room which connected to my room.
After getting ready in my royal attire.
I enter in my room taking some important letters to show my father and then walked out towards his room.
When I entered his room, I saw that he is sitting on Deewan and in front of him one of his closest friend, Pratap Singh, is sitting and both are playing board games.
I have never gotten too close with my father's friend not because I think that he is behind conspiracy which killed my mother, grandfather and grandmother but I always have been wary of them because of the possibility.
My father looked towards me and beamed a wide smile on his pale face. His eyes never sparkles like it used to when my mother was alive.
'Are, Agam aaiye aaiye, dekhiye ki hum Pratap ko kaise chauthi baar harate hai.'
'Oh Agam, come come, see how I defeat Pratap for the fourth time', my father exclaimed.
'Nahi, iss baar nahi. Aur yeh sheh aur maat!!'
'No, Not this time. And here it is, Checkmate!!'
I see that without my father realizing he sneakily captured my father's king from all sides. Is this how he plan to take my father's kingdom? Sneakily. No I will not let it happen.
I cleared my throat and said, 'You called for me, Bapusa.'
I frowned when Pratap leaned forward, said something to my father in response to which my father laughed shook his head and then Pratap stood bowed his head to me and walked out.
'What was that?' I asked Bapusa.
He just shook his head while smiling, then sat on the bed and patted beside him saying, 'Come here sit with me. It feels like I haven't talked to you in eons.'
When he said it like that I instantly felt guilty for ignoring him.
He is the only person who is left behind for me. I go over to him and sat down beside him.
'Hum jo kahe usse dhyan se suniyega, gusse mein nahi shant man se jawab dijiyega.'
'Listen carefully to what I am saying, give answer with peaceful mind not with anger.'
I looked at my father quizically, what did he meant by that, he then continued,
'Aaj hume ek prastav aaya, sandhi ka....... Malwa ke taraf se.'
'Today we received a proposal for a peace treaty......... from Malwa.'
I instantly pushed away from him and screamed in anger,
'BILKUL NAHI!! Hum unka koi prastav nahi manenge. Mauka milte hi woh Pankaj Rao humare peeth par chhura marenge.'
'NO WAY!! We will not accept any of their proposals. That Pankaj Rao will stab us in the back as soon as he gets a chance.'
'I am asking you to think about it with calm and cool mind', my father said holding me.
I shook him off and shook my head in anger, how could my father even consider this proposal.
I turned towrds him, looking at him with angry eyes I asked,
'Aap bhul gae ki usne humari Maa-sa ko humare saamne mara dala, humare Dada-sa aur Dadi-sa ko busdilon ke tarah mar dala. Humare kitne sainiko ki bali chadha di. Aap ye sab bhul kaise sakte hai, Bapusa?'
'You have forgotten that he killed my mother in front of me, killed our grandfather and grandmother like a coward. How many of our soldiers have died? How can you forget all this, Bapusa?'
I screamed at the end when he suddenly slapped me.
I turned shocked as my father never yelled or slapped me before.
He is looking at me with angry eyes and says in a very deadly serious tone I have never heard from him before,
'Hum kuch nahi bhule, aap jitna pyaar karte the unse utna hum bhi karte the par humare pass kartavya hai ki hum apne Bapusa ka sapna pura kare.'
'I have not forgotten anything, I also loved them as much as you did, but I have the duty to fulfill my father's dream.'
He took me and made me sit on bed and said in a serious tone,
'Hum jaante hai ki aap Pankaj Rao ko maaf nahi kar sakte, hum bhi nahi, par humare Baapusa ka sapna tha ek Bharat dekhne ka na ki pura Bharat jeetne ka, agar sandhi saamne se aayi hai toh humara kartavya hai ki hum unko ek mauka de na ki jung.
Hum unpar aankh band karke vishwas karne ke liye nahi keh rahe par apne Dada-sa ke sapne ko jo ek awsar mila hai use lene ke liye keh rahe hai.'
'We know that you cannot forgive Pankaj Rao, neither can we, but my father's dream was to see one Bharat and not to win the entire Bharat, if the treaty has come from their side, then it is our duty to give him a chance not to give them a war.
We are not asking you to blindly believe but to use the opportunity given to complete your grandfather's dream.'
I stood up, started walking feeling agitated and said,
'He is getting defeated by us. Since we have taken all our annexed lands from him and again established stronger army presence at borders, removed his spies from our empire.
He is using the old trick of making friend and then stab us.'
Bapusa stopped me and said,
'Hume garv hai ki aapne ye jeet Suryagarh ko di. Aapke wajah se dushman ne apne ghutne tek diye.
Par apne Dada-sa ka sapna aur apna naam yad kijiye. Aapka naam apke Dada ke naam par rakha gya taki aap unka sapna purn kare.'
'We are proud that you gave this victory to Suryagarh. The enemy bent his knees in front of your face. But remember your grandfather's dream and your name.
Your name is given after your grandfather's name so that you fulfill his dream.'
I pondered about it then slowly exhaled a breath and said,
'Fine, we will accept his proposal and go Malwa to respect the treaty but--'
Bapusa interrupted me,
'Don't worry we will take huge group of soldiers and I have prepared my spy soldiers group also if this will be a trap. Now, go sleep. We will leave in the early morning.'
I raised my eyebrows that he already made preparations for leaving even without knowing my decisions.
He just laughed at me and said,
'Aap humare bete hai, hum nahi aapko janenge toh koun?'
'You are my son, if I don't know you then who will know you?'
I retired to my room, all night sleep came in bits and pieces.
Next morning, I freshned up quickly then entered in my room without even changing to take my jewellery when I stopped in my track.
I see Chandani lying seductively on my bed looking at me with hungry eyes. She stood up, walked up to me and touched my midriff while saying,
'Suna hai Yuvraj ki aap lambi yatra par jaa rahe hai.'
'I have heard that Yuvraj is going on a long journey.'
Chandani is one of the women living in harem and she is my favourite as she can handle my roughness.
With one hand I fist her hair tight, tilting her head towards me forcefully and another hand squeezed her waist hard, bringing my lips closer to her cheek then turned my face towards her ear I muttered slowly,
'Aur aapko pata hai humare kamare mein aapka aana nishedh hai.'
'And you know you are not allowed to enter my room.'
I bit her earlobe harshly, she whimpered and said,
'I was just trying to relive your stress before journey.'
I asked huskily,
'Mine stress or yours? Because right now you look in stress.'
She lowered her head panting heavily, I tightened my fist in her hair making her cried out, she looked up at me with desire in her eyes.
I pulled her skirt up bunching it around her waist and took my hands to her core feeling her wetness for me and strummed my fingers on her flesh teasing her.
She is holding my arms and panting heavily, when I know she is close I remove my hand from her core, straightened myself up and leaving her dumbfounded there looking at me with shocked eyes and mouth open.
I walked back to changing room. When I started dressing she comes in changing room and asked pelutantly,
'What was that? Did I do something wrong?'
I said nonchantly,
'Yes, this is your punishment for entering my bedroom without my permission.'
I leaned towards her without touching my body to hers and whispered in her ears,
'Don't you dare relive yourself before I come back or I will not let you sit down for 1 week. Understood?'
She nodded her head with her eyes glazed with desire and said, 'I will hold you to that promise.'
I nodded my head and walked out of my room with my sword and collection of daggers specially prepared for Pankaj Rao.
I met Bapusa on the front door with the entourage. I touched his feet.
He blessed me,
'God bless you.'
'I once again looked over the preparation. Now let's go', Bapusa said when he noticed me looking over the entourage.
I nodded my head and climbed up my horse starting our journey.
We travelled for 10 days stopped only to eat, rest and reached Malwa. We could see the grand palace of Malwa and its grand entrance.
The moment we reached, the entrance doors opened and the announcer announced our presence.
I could see Pankaj Rao standing with his ministers and some women.
We dismounted our horses and reached Pankaj Rao.
Some lady stepped forward with plate of aarti and touched our forheads with Tilak and circulated the plate in front of our eyes. She stepped back.
'We welcome you in our empire, Malwa and thank you for accepting the peace treaty.'
Pankaj Rao stepped forward while saying. I interrupted him by saying,
'We accepted only treaty not you till you prove to be trustworthy.'
I smiled, I could see him gritting his teeth in anger but he tamed down his anger and again faced us with smile.
'I know, Why don't we discuss these things in royal court, huh?'
He said pleasantly. I don't know why he is willing to get humiliated by me, what is his plan.
I looked towards my father, I don't know about Pankaj Rao but Bapusa is angry at my apparent insult.
I lowered my head. My father and his ministers followed him to court.
I also turned to follow but felt eyes on me.
I looked around discreetly when my eyes landed on the girl standing on veranda with a sword.
I felt like all breath is sucked out of me and punched hard in gut. She is looking so innocent standing there with adorable frown on her face.
I have a sudden urge to protect her from all bad.
I suddenly shook my head out of trance then again looked towards her but she ran away from there.
I felt unsettled as to who she is.
'Yuvraj, everyone is waiting for you inside.'
I looked towards the attendee who called for me then nodded my head. I once again look towards the veranda then shook my head and followed the attendee to Royal court.
I am impressed by the architecture and designs of this palace.
The gardens also looked beautiful and had unique bordering designs.
The royal court is also spaced well and huge with good architectural designs.
I join my father to the right of Pankaj Rao.
'Let's start, shall we?', he asked looking towards us.
My father nodded his head.
'I know you don't believe in this peace treaty as it came from my side after so many attacks initiated by me',
He paused looking at me pointedly then continued,
'Isliye hum apni sabse mahatvapurn samaan aapko dete hai taki aap hum pe vishwas kare..... humari beti.'
'That's why I will give you our most precious thing so that you will trust me..... my daughter.'
I turned shocked then angry, I knew he had some kind of trick up his sleeve, he is promising his daughter to his enemy to make her enter in our house as Vibhishan.
I turned to stood up when my father held my arm, I looked at him and he looked at me with stern eyes which seemed to say 'Don't do it. Let him finish.'
I sat down lowering my head to hide my anger.
'Aapko lag raha hai yeh humari chal hai, par vishwas kijiye ye koi chal nahi hai. Hum apni beti se bahot pyaar karte hai isliye toh uski shaadi humne bachpan mein nahi karayi jab ki humare yaha shaadi chhoti umar mein ho jati hai.
Humne Surya Chauhan ke usoolon ke bare mein bahot suna hai isliye toh hum apni beti aapko de rahe hai.'
'You think this is our trick, but believe me, this is not a trick. I love my daughter very much, that is why we did not make her get married in childhood since here children get married at a young age.
We have heard a lot about Surya Chauhan's principles, that is why we are giving our daughter to you.'
He said while looking at me and I tried to gauge honesty in his expressions. Then he said,
'Hume pata hai ki aap humse dushmani rakh sakte hai par kisi aurat ko chot nahi pahucha sakte hai aur apki ghar ki bahu ko aap log dil ki rani bana ke rakhenge.
Isliye apni taraf se saari dushmani khatam karke iss sandhi ko rishtedaari mein badal rahe hai. Ab aapka jo bhi faisla ho hum sandhi se picche nahi hatenge.'
'We have come to know that you can be an enemy to us but you cannot hurt any woman and you will keep your daughter-in-law as the queen of people's heart.
Therefore, by leaving hatred from our side, we want to change this treaty to relation. Now whatever decision you take, we will not deviate from the treaty.'
Before my father could say anything I say,
'I accept your proposal but I want to hear from your daughter's mouth that she wants this marriage with me.'
My father and Pankaj Rao looked shocked that I accepted proposal so easily.
Pankaj Rao recovered quickly ordered the attendee to bring Princess here.
Somewhere I am wishing that princess is the same girl in veranda but a girl enters in different saree with a veil upon her face.
I asked,
'Why the veil?'
But Pankaj Rao answered,
'Here if the girl is unmarried at the older age then she can't show her face to stranger except her husband.'
I nodded smelling something fishy but then asked her,
'Princess, do you want this marriage with me?'
She didn't say anything. I knew her daughter will never marry the son of supposed killer of her mother.
Pankaj Rao fed it to her now his lies only will trip up his plans.
But then I noticed someone hiding behind one of the pillars on the balcony on the far end of Royal court.
She is the same girl from earlier.
Then I heard one thing which shifted my whole word.
'Yes, I will marry you, Yuvraj.'
I whipped my head back to look towards the princess. Everyone started clapping, I again looked towards balcony but she just vanished.
Am I imagining things now? Is that girl even real? She appears and disappears in moments.
